"Black Wimmin When and Where we Enter" is one of the early exhibitions which marked the beginning of what we might think of as the 90s anti-racist arts efforts. As of the late 1980s into the 1990s Canada's art scene sees a surge in these types of exhibitions foregrounding BIPOC artists, particularly Black women, claiming their rightful place within these spaces. In this exhibition we see the work of Black women artists including Buseje Bailey; Clair Carew; Grace Channer; Dzian; Foluké Olubayo; Chloe Onairi; khadeja McCall; Kim Mcneilly; Barbara Prezeau; Suli Williams; Winsom some of them members of DAWA the Diasporic African Women Artist Collective founded in Toronto in 1984.
